Kapila Pawar

Dr. Kapila Pawar, a PhD in Pedagogy from People’s Friendship University of Russia, with specialization in comparative linguistics, carries rich experience teaching in schools and Universities in Russia , India and Dubai. She has been associated with GEMS for over 7 years now and has worked in various capacities in a sister school, before taking over as the Supervisor for Upper Primary in GEMS Our Own Indian School, two years ago.

Kapila considers herself to be a teacher by choice and not by chance and therefore more adaptable to shifts in pedagogy that are essential to train and equip the generation Z with all that it takes to be successful in a future world that probably only exists in our imagination. An ardent learner herself, Kapila believes that all students are capable of growth; it is important to teach them to believe in their ability to grow. Education must not come in the way of learning. Thus, she ensures that myriad ongoing and authentic learning opportunities are provided to students to explore their abilities, nurture their uniqueness and better prepare themselves for the future.
