Gazalah Shahnaz

Section Coordinator - Middle School Girls

Gazalah Shahnaz joined Gems Our Own Indian Indian School, Dubai three years back in 2019. But her first tryst with young learners goes almost a decade back when she taught her first batch of senior secondary students at St. Augustine School in the picturesque hill station of Kurseong, India. Since then there has been no looking back and teaching has been more of a vocation for her than a mere profession. Being versatile and dynamic her next assignment was teaching post graduate students of English for 2 years at St. Joseph’s College, a Jesuit run institution in Darjeeling. Incidentally, she is an alumnus of the same college having obtained her own M.A (English) degree from there. To augment her skills as a teacher, she went on to Christ University, Bangalore to complete her Bachelor of Education. Before moving to the UAE, she took up various challenging roles as an academic coordinator while teaching in India. All of this experience has helped her to grow, adapt and upgrade herself equipping her with the expertise, both academic and interpersonal, to help her students to bring out the best in them. Hence, along with the regular duties of an English teacher in this institution, she has taken up other roles as the MEP coordinator and the wellbeing coordinator of Middle School Girls section.  After all students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
