Kankan Kakati

Kankan Kakati is a dedicated and passionate English teacher at GEMS Our Own Indian School, where he has been contributing his expertise since 2020. He holds a Master’s Degree in English and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the House Master of Leo House, and he currently serves as the school’s Marketing Coordinator.

Mr. Kakati encourages his students to explore beyond the confines of their textbooks, fostering skills in problem-solving and critical thinking. His teaching philosophy centers on providing students with the linguistic competence and analytical abilities that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them to be confident and effective communicators in society. With a commitment spanning over 18 years, he has been instrumental in instilling a deep appreciation for the English language in his students. He has been effectively utilizing the reading program 'Achieve3000' since its inception, contributing to his students' remarkable performance in the ASSET Examination. He treats every student with equal importance and demonstrates his dedication by offering extra help and staying after school when necessary.

In recognition of his exceptional dedication, Mr. Kakati was awarded the 'Educator of the Year Award' for the academic year 2023-24. His students regard him as a father figure, friend, brother and mentor. He is cherished by students across all classes for his unwavering commitment and support.
