Supervisor Middle School Girls' Section

Meera Jayaraj joined OIS in 2007 as a Social Science teacher. During the last  twelve years, she  has shouldered various posts and responsibilities - as Teaching and Learning Supervisor, the Assembly Coordinator, Activity Coordinator, House Mistress, Exam Coordinator and Subject Coordinator. Since 2012, she has held  the position of the Head of Department for Social Studies. Meera has been coordinating the United Nations Simulation Conference, our signature MUN, since 2011. She headed the 2018 version of United Nations Simulation Conference,hosted by OIS, in conjunction with  #GESF at Atlantis, The Palm.

She strongly believes that it is their stellar performances that gives her an unconditional joy, which, perhaps, is the most fulfilling and rewarding of all experiences for an educator. Her efforts and contributions towards her students and the school was recognized number of times. She was bestowed with ‘The Teacher of the Year Award’ in 2012. Meera was also selected for the GEMS Core Value Award in 2014 and was the finalist for the prestigious Mariamma Varkey Award in 2018.
