Success is not one-size fits all

As most inspirational pieces go, I thought I’d begin by quoting Shakespeare, an all-time favourite of mine, but then I thought, why should I? He never quotes any of mine. With that welcome to an excerpt from the adventures of a sweet idiot.

But more than these achievements I cherish the fact that I have been able to learn the wonders of Zoom and Teams, connect and network with more people, get through my day despite the dejection 2020 has been, improve my art and cooking skills and find opportunities to better myself. I know it may seem a little odd but that’s what I define success to be. It is the little accomplishments I often forget to credit myself. It is the smiles and stories each day brings me.

In my very limited experience with life, perhaps the best advice I have ever gotten is that success is not a one-size fits all concept. It is meant to differ for each one of us. So, go ahead and chase that crazy dream of yours, compliment yourself for stepping out of your comfort zone, take every chance to make your day the best one yet for life goes on. Let’s keep dreaming the best dreams together.
